Portland, OR - Alpha Broadcasting President/COO Bob Proffitt has announced Marty Hadfield has been named Corporate Engineer as well as Director of Engineering for the Portland cluster of stations effective December 15, 2009.
In his new position, Hadfield will oversee the broadcast engineers, remote team, as well as the transmitter sites and the massive project to co-locate the six stations into one state-of-the-art studio facility.A native of the Pacific Northwest, Hadfield began his broadcast engineering career in 1976 at KIXI as Chief Engineer of the AM/FM combos in Seattle and the Tri-Cities, WA. From there he became the Corporate Director of Engineering for SRO Broadcasting before moving over to Fisher Broadcasting in Seattle where he was a TV/Radio Special Projects Engineer. Hadfield then joined Entercom where he spent 17 years as VP of Engineering and lead their technical growth initiatives from an 11 station group in 8 markets to 114 stations in 24 markets. He also worked for Qualcomm FLO TV as their Senior Broadcast Engineer for the Pacific Northwest. Over his years at various broadcast facilities, Hadfield has been instrumental in the design and construction of dozens of studios, high-power AM, FM & TV transmitter sites, FM Boosters and Translators, new and rebuilt tower sites and has launched 75 FM HD radio installations.
Hadfield attended the University of Washington Electrical Engineering Program, is an SBE Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer, an Associate Member of AFCCE, a Member of IEEE and is a Certified Master Engineer by NARTE.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon Alpha Broadcasting owns and operates KXTG-FM, KUPL-FM, KINK-FM, KUFO-FM, KXL-AM and KCMD-AM. Alpha Broadcasting was formed by Larry Wilson, Bob Proffitt and Endeavour Capital, also in Portland. Wilson founded Citadel Communications Corporation, before it was sold to Forstmann Little & Company in 2001 for $2 billion.
