Portland, OR - September 30, 2009

Alpha Broadcasting has closed the sale with CBS Radio and officially takes ownership today of Portland properties:  KCMD, KINK, KUFO and KUPL.  Alpha’s Chairman and CEO Larry Wilson and President/COO Bob Proffitt, announced the news this afternoon in an e-mail to the staff, bringing these stations together with KXL and KXTG previously purchased from Rose City Radio.  Alpha had been operating the former CBS cluster under the terms of a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) since August 7, 2009.

"These stations are part of an incredible set of assets, poised to become the premier broadcast group in the Northwest," commented Wilson.

Added Proffitt, "With our great employees and associates there is no limit to what we can provide for our listeners and our clients alike.  I’m really enthused by what I’ve seen so far and we’ve only just begun."

Alpha Broadcasting, headquartered in Portland, Oregon is a new entity formed by Wilson, Proffitt and Endeavour Capital, also in Portland.  Wilson founded Citadel Communications Corporation, which grew to 205 radio stations in 42 cities before it was sold to Forstmann Little & Company in 2001 for $2 billion.
